This is a great idea. The BC Dairy Foundation (British Columbia, Canada) created a new campaign to promote the power of milk. They created ‘The Week Shop‘, an online (and offline) store that sells products for people that are ‘weak’ due to lack of milk consumption. There is a YouTube Channel, a Flickr account and a very good website that supports this campaign.

So, drink milk if you don’t want to be the future customers of “The Weak Shop”

Someone has to drive him in the right place and by this I mean pages as sitemap, store, member registration etc. Each company has to take advantage of this page and drive the visitor where it wants. Especially for the eCommerce websites or online stores, companies have to keep the visitor and drive him where they want. There are several good and bad examples that I found on the web.

Hewlett Packard has a great 404-Not Found page. There is a search form, the four major product categories and many links at the bottom of the page. There is no way that visitor will leave this page.

New York Times has a landing page that drive people to the Member Center. This is how they make money and this is why they care about.

The landing page of Macy’s could be much better. Their main goal is to drive visitors to the homepage but why not directly to the product categories as HP does?

Citibank has a complicated 404 page. The user can either search what he wants or to use the drop-down menus at the very right. Bank of America has a much better way to do it.

The 404-Not Found page of Microsoft is weird. If someone writes: www.microsoft.com/windoWWs goes to Bing results for Windowws and after 3 seconds he will be redirected to Bing.com website. But I visited Microsoft and not Bing and I care about Windows or Office and not about results of ‘Windows’ in Bing.com

Apple and Microsoft.. How similar and how different they are? The new Microsoft Store (as we say Apple Store) has a logo that is very similar to all Apple products’ logos with two gray shades (picture).

Just be patient! The new Windows 7 are coming with ‘new and innovative’ ideas! (maybe they will include Spotlight, Time machine, Dock and many other NEW features!)

Window Shop is a new website from Amazon. Today this website is on air and it will be updated every week. It is a flash site that presents the top movies, songs, best selling books and CDs. The browsing is too simply using the Space Bar and the arrows of your keyboard..

eBay is one of the biggest companies in Silicon Valley. (Based in San Jose). The eBay group of companies has Skype, PayPal, Rent.com, half.com, Kijiji, ProStores, Shopping.com, StubHub and MicroPlace!

eBay also expands its actions to Europe buying the two famous Denmark companies: DBA.dk and BilBasen.

Last, we heard that in 2007 ebay sent to its users 18.000.000.000 emails. These emails were counted only for transactionals action. The marketing emails are were approximately another $5 billions!
