<p>Recently, we launched Videoblast.it. An easy way to share a favorite moment within a video! With <a title="Videoblast.it" href="http://videoblast.it/">Videoblast.it</a> you can create a unique customized page with your video and comment.  You can even control the specific time your video will start! After you  create your videoblast go ahead and share it with the ones you want.  Post it to your Skype chat, email it, or share it with your facebook  friends and twitter followers.</p>

<p>Now you just have to follow 3 simple steps to make your Videoblast and share your favorite moment within a video.</p>
<p>1. Enter your Youtube url in the white box right on top. Not sure  about the url? Click the blue link to transfer to Youtube and pick your  video.</p>
<p>2. Decide when you want your video to start. Although this step is  not necessary, the core excitement from a Videoblast is when you capture  that exact moment within a video. You can test if you picked the right  time by clicking the “Test Time” button and previewing your videoblast  in the small screen on the right!</p>
<p>3. All done with the video? Add a comment that you want to attach.  The comment will be shown at the top of the video when the video is  played. Finally you have the opportunity to put the right title to the  video you are sharing!</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>It was my first <a title="Startup Weekend" href="http://www.startupweekend.org" target="_blank">Startup Weekend</a> and it was a great experience! On Friday (07/23/10) night we were more than 100 people with tons of ideas about websites, web and mobile applications. We spent the whole weekend there and we came out with quite good projects and interesting pitches. Our idea was <a title="Shipox.com" href="http://www.shipox.com" target="_self">Shipox</a> and got the 3rd place! (More to come.. later..)</p>

<p>It was about time to see a Social Media campaign coming from the number one refreshment drink in the world. <a title="Coca-Cola" href="http://coca-cola.com" target="_blank">Coca-Cola Company</a>, one of the top global advertisers (mostly in Print and Broadcast media), is going to use Social Media to promote the happiness message around the world. Three guys from Germany, Belgium and Mexico are going to travel around the world visiting 206 countries, where Coca-Cola is sold. They will have cameras, laptops and other gadgets in order to post in Social Media websites the happiness of people around the world. <a title="Expedition 206" href="http://expedition206.com" target="_blank">Expedition 206</a> will last one year and the team will start on January from Madrid, Spain.</p>

The team, which has typically worked in the space of print media and broadcast media was suddenly challenged to go into this new media space and come up with an idea to expand our brand.&#8221;</em> (AdAge)</p>

<p>I guess that most of you have noticed or <a title="Techcrunch - Flickr logo" href="http://www.techcrunch.com/2009/09/24/yahoo-brands-flickr-users-retaliate/" target="_blank">read</a> about the change in <a title="Flickr" href="http://flickr.com" target="_blank">Flickr</a>&#8216;s logo.. Yahoo recently added &#8220;from Yahoo!&#8221; next to Flickr logo in order to enhance its brand through this very successful image and video hosting service. What yahoo did is very reasonable and it might help the company&#8217;s brand. Apparently this action is a part of its <a title="I'm Nikos - It's You, new Yahoo campaign" href="http://imnikos.com/2009/09/its-you-the-new-yahoo-globa-campaign/" target="_blank">new campaign</a>. Why Yahoo chose only Flickr and some others and not all of its websites? For example <a title="Zimbra" href="http://zimbra.com" target="_blank">Zimbra</a> and <a title="Delicious" href="http://delicious.com/" target="_blank">Delicious</a>, two very successful websites, don&#8217;t have a yahoo logo in the header or the footer. I can understand that the audience of Zimbra is much different than the one of Flickr but Delicious focuses on the similar target market that Flickr does. Interesting..</p>

<p>Yahoo <a title="Yahoo's websites" href="http://everything.yahoo.com" target="_blank">has several websites</a>, services and divisions. It is quite difficult to have a uniformity across its websites but it is important. I navigated through several Yahoo websites and I <img class="alignright size-full wp-image-772" style="margin: 10px;" title="yahoo logos" src="http://imnikos.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/yahoo-logos.jpg" alt="yahoo logos" width="119" height="119" />noticed that there are some differences in the logos (old red and new purple) and in favicons (the small icon next to the web address). Yahoo has several logos: &#8216;a Yahoo division&#8217;, &#8216;a Yahoo service&#8217;, &#8216;this is Yahoo&#8217; and &#8216;from Yahoo&#8217;. Why all these different? Some of them in the old red and some others in new purple.</p>
<p>With favicons, Yahoo has not a uniformity across its websites. In most of them we see the new purple Y! and in some others the old red one.</p>

<p style="text-align: left;">I like that Yahoo has a very modern logo. I also like that on the web purple means Yahoo! and they chose a unique and rare color instead of using blue that most companies do! But.. They need to pay more attention in uniformity across its websites..</p>

<p>There is a quite big buzz these days about the first campaign of Yahoo! The <strong>It&#8217;s You</strong> campaign will be placed on every media channel (TV, print, web etc) and it will be the first time that Yahoo is advertised globally. The cost? $100 million for the next 18 months. Apparently the new CEO, Carol Bartz, tries hard to promote the brand and its new services.</p>
<p>According to Adage &#8220;The goal is to boost Yahoo&#8217;s user base and to increase the amount of time visitors spend with Yahoo properties, which were once dominant in the U.S. but now compete with social networks and applications such as Facebook and Twitter for attention.&#8221;</p>
<p>Elisa Steele, Yahoo Chief Marketing Officer, presented the creative for the new campaign. Personally I like the &#8221; it&#8217;s Y!ou &#8221; logo and theme. Take a look at the video and see the TV spot and print ads of Yahoo.</p>
